We have developed a very gentle method of stripping that takes much longer
than other methods, but produces better results, and reduces the possibility
of chemicals soaking into the wood.
Stripping the way we do, there is no need to neutralise!
We use just a very weak mixture of chemicals that the items are dipped into
5 or 6 times, and the paint is gradually pressure washed off each time.
We then remove all the paint from around the mouldings and corners by hand,
Briefly dip again one last time, and finally steam clean.
This service is from £65 for a standard sized internal door (30” x 78”)
External doors (front doors) are from £195
After the doors are left to dry naturally, they are ready for sanding, and then
Waxing, varnishing or repainting.
Our method of stripping we believe is the best way, although it is not the only
Way. Cheaper, quicker methods may be available elsewhere but
we have often been asked to re-strip these doors properly.
